I am a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist, specializing in holistic approaches to mental health, using diet, nutritional supplements, acupressure techniques, meditative techniques, and psychotherapy to help those with spiritually transformative experiences (STEs). My goal is to support individuals with STEs mentally, emotionally, and physically, using natural approaches, in order to avoid the use of prescription medications, when possible. I have a deep respect for those who have had spiritual experiences and want to provide a therapeutic setting where these experiences can be explored and fully integrated in a positive way in the individual's life.
I am interested in spiritual matters, especially as a source of inspiration to our choices, aspirations, and direction in life. I have had STEs since I was a child, and believe that spiritual matters have a profound impact on every aspect of life, including health and well-being. Areas of interest and study in my life have been in near-death experiences (both positive and negative), spiritual connection and communication, and life-after-death issues.
I believe that life consists of five areas of functioning: spiritual, mental emotional, physical, and social. All areas work together as a unified whole and can profoundly influence the life experience of the individual. A STE will enlighten and enhance life functioning, when it has been integrated into a personal paradigm that allows for greater wisdom, direction, and practical application from the STEs. I use my personal experiences with STEs, and training in psychiatry, psychotherapy, orthomolecular and energy medicine to support those with STEs.
