My offering of spiritual guidance is based on decades of spiritual experience, receiving monthly spiritual direction since 1992, and participating in peer supervision with other spiritual directors since 2009.
My office is my garden, both in person and via Skype, where I offer spiritual companioning to individuals and groups. I also lead groups in retreats. Together Peter, my husband, and I run an Airbnb (Jasmine Garden Oasis Retreat House) in our home that becomes a retreat house/hermitage during the winter months.
My own background was first agnostic, then after a kundalini awakening, Taoist and Buddhist until 1992 when I experienced the Sacred Heart and was called to spiritual direction. I now would define my personal religious approach as Christian mystic who practices kundalini yoga, shares a Zen practice with my husband (Peter, a Zen priest), and together we celebrate and share with others our Taoist inclinations of deep love of nature.
My approach to spiritual guidance is to listen with a quiet heart and to assist people who come to me to draw closer to Spirit through prayer and deeper connection with our Divine Source. It can be helpful to find people like myself with whom to share, who have gone through deep pain and despair in their own lives, which then gives us large compassionate ears for listening. My avenue in this work is based upon clarity through cleansing combined with focus on unconditional love.
Presently I am a doctoral student. My dissertation research study is on how people integrate spiritually transformative experiences. Many of the people who seek my guidance have had spiritual events that changed their lives dramatically, and they desire guidance to navigate the challenge of integrating their experience and allowing it to transform their lives. I have personally experienced four dramatic spiritual experiences (near-death, kundalini, conversion, illness) at ages 25, 38, 42 and 57. Each one took several years to integrate, and each one brought me to a new broader and more beautiful place in my life. I feel strongly the desire to companion others on this journey.
