I utilize concepts from many traditional psychological disciplines including behavioral, relational, humanistic, self, and psychodynamic therapy. I also draw upon my extensive knowledge of holistic health, consciousness, mind/body/soul connection, mindfulness, reincarnation, psychospiritual experiences, near-death experiences, and other areas in my work. Additionally, I have completed training and certifications in Psychospiritual Therapy, Energy Psychology, past life and in-between-life regression, hypnotherapy, and the utilization of intuition and psychic ability for healing. Together, all of these areas of expertise help me to provide specialized support which facilitates and enhances the integration of spiritual events and experiences in my clients’ lives. STE clients can especially benefit from "regrounding" and building a new, expanded identity as a human/spirit hybrid. Helping clients to reorganize and reframe experiences from this perspective greatly increases their ability to bridge both aspects of their identity and to adjust following a transformative event. It also guides them to utilize their experiences to further their evolution and help others to heal as well. I am supportive, respectful, caring, compassionate, empathic, intuitive, and gentle. People who work with me tell me they have learned to understand and like themselves and life more, have become less judgmental and more balanced, and have found profound healing and meaning in their existence.

Extremely sensitive and intuitive since childhood, I felt, saw and heard “connections” where no one else did. Even as a young girl, I pondered questions that were well beyond my years and felt a “knowing” within me that was inexplicable. When I did not find the answers to what this meant, I went searching for them. I learned as much as I could about psychology and psychospiritual psychology. In graduate school, I trained at a rehabilitation hospital where patients often reported phenomena such as leaving their bodies, having near-death experiences, and seeing deceased family members. For the first time in my life, I felt a kinship with this group. Everything they shared with me resonated on a deep level. Their accounts led me to research near-death experiences and write my dissertation about NDE aftereffects and psychotherapy issues. As a clinician, I have helped many people presenting with challenges associated with STEs. Personally, I have had and continue to have STEs, especially involving heightened sensitivity, empathy, intuition and psychic abilities. These events have furthered my interest in and understanding of these areas and have led me to integrate numerous alternative healing modalities in my work with clients.

I believe we are eternal souls who come to Earth repeatedly to learn about ourselves, each other, and our environment. Thus, we are both spiritual beings and human beings or what I call “human/spirit hybrids”. People who have had spiritual experiences and STEs may be more aware of this dualistic identity then others. Specialized, informed, empathic, and nonjudgmental support can help STErs to integrate both aspects of self so they can maximize their adjustment, comprehend and fulfill their soul’s purpose, and find deep meaning in all aspects of their lives.
